Life for Relief and Development signs a cooperation agreement with Pal Bee Company


LIFE for Relief and Development, an international humanitarian organization known for its dedication to providing essential life-saving assistance and promoting human dignity, equality and sustainable development around the world, signed a cooperation and partnership agreement with PalPay, the leading company in modern electronic payment services in Palestine, on Sunday.

The agreement aims to enable the organization to distribute its aid to 1,050 beneficiaries within the orphan sponsorship program as a first stage, by issuing electronic wallet cards approved by (Pay) throughout the country, and applying the electronic wallet without bank accounts.

The Orphan Sponsorship Program aims to reach 2,500 orphans who are eligible for assistance, and provide the necessary support to them and their families through credit cards that are fed with sums of money allocated for basic purposes, including purchasing clothes and food supplies, and paying electricity and water bills only.

The agreement was signed at PalPay h
eadquarters in Al-Bireh, in the presence of Ms. Noura Al-Sawalmeh, Director of LIFE Relief and Development Office in Palestine, Mr. Najeh Hamamreh, Country Director of LIFE in Palestine, Mr. Thaer Hamayel, General Manager of PalPay, and a number of managers and employees in the company.

At the beginning of the signing session, Mr. Najeh Hamamra gave a brief explanation of the association’s activities in Palestine and the relief and development projects and programs implemented by LIFE in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Jerusalem, pointing to the association’s permanent and prominent presence in the Gaza Strip during the war and what LIFE has provided and will provide to alleviate the suffering of our people in the beloved Strip.

Hamayel explained that this agreement is in line with the vision of PalPay, which is to provide the latest electronic payment technologies and solutions for various sectors, noting that this cooperation will contribute to the development of the association by facilitating the benefici
aries and shortening many steps to complete their financial tasks in the best possible way, pointing out that electronic payment solutions have become a fundamental pillar for developing the service, economic and development sectors.

Hamayel stressed the depth of the partnership between the two parties through signing this agreement, praising the important role played by Life Relief and Development Association in serving our community, especially the various projects implemented by the association, which contribute to achieving sustainable development at various levels.

In turn, Al-Suwalmeh said, ‘First, allow me to express our deep happiness with this partnership, which we hope will take on a strategic dimension with a leading Palestinian company in its field, based primarily on high-level local Palestinian expertise. He explained that the association will work in the first phase to implement the service provided by ‘PalPay’ for the benefit of the groups benefiting from the association’s orphan care progra
m to facilitate their access to these services.

Al-Suwalmeh stressed that ‘since its establishment, the association has been keen to support and empower various economically and socially marginalized groups in all Palestinian territories, through the projects implemented by the association, to preserve their dignity in Palestine.’

Hamamra explained that the cards will be delivered to all beneficiaries of the orphan sponsorship program in various regions of the country, and that an explanatory presentation will be given to the beneficiaries on how to use the card and the application via mobile phone, in cooperation with the Orphans Department at the Ministry of Social Development to ensure credibility and transparency.

Life will also work on constantly updating the data of beneficiary names, and coordinating with PalPay to include new beneficiaries who meet the conditions and criteria for orphan sponsorship
