Princess Nourah University Awarded 4 Medals at International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva


Riyadh: Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center won four medals at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Switzerland, held from April 17 to 21, 2024. The exhibition featured over 1,000 inventions from 45 countries in fields such as science, energy, environment, and health.

A gold medal was awarded to Dr. Tahani Alrebdi for her “Broad-spectrum solar energy system with optical rectenna and photovoltaic cells”, and one to Dr. Thamraa Alshahrani for “Microwave-assisted pyrolysis system and method”.

Dr. Madawi Alotaibi and Dr. Alaa Emad’s invention “Rehabilitation device for people with prosthetic limbs” earned them a silver medal, while Dr. Nora Alfaris and Dr. Jozaa Altamimi’s “Cats feeding box” was awarded a bronze medal.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center’s participation in the exhibition aimed to raise the global scientific presence of Saudi universities, foster exchange of knowledge and networking with inventors worldwide, showcase the u
niversity’s capabilities, and establish collaborations that could bring inventions to market.
