Saudi Arabia, UK Enhance Cooperation in Sports Investments


Riyadh: The UK-Saudi Sports Investment and Innovation Forum was held Wednesday in London with the participation of the Ministries of Investment and Sports, Saudi and British investors, and senior officials in the sports sector from the two countries.

The forum was held on the sidelines of the UK-Saudi Sustainable Infrastructure Summit, and was organized by the Federation of Saudi Chambers, represented by the Saudi British Joint Business Council.

Saudi Esports Federation chief executive Turki Al-Fawzan explained that 67% of Saudis love electronic sports and games.

Ministry of Investment Director of Sports Sector Investment Development Basem Ibrahim explained that the size of the sports market in the Kingdom is estimated at about SAR 30 billion, expecting the market size to reach SAR 84 billion by 2030.

The forum discussed several topics, including hosting mega sports tournaments, foreign acquisitions, quality-of-life initiatives, and the opportunities for partnerships and investments between the two countr
ies.
