SEC Announces Successful Hajj 1445 AH Operational Plan, Sets Peak Load Records

Riyadh: The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) achieved remarkable success in its operational plan for the Hajj season of 1445 AH, under the guidance and supervision of Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman.

Makkah and the holy sites witnessed unprecedented peak electrical loads, reaching 5,361 megawatts in Makkah, 454 megawatts in Arafat, and 343 megawatts in Mina, while maintaining stable and uninterrupted electrical services across all locations.

The CEO of SEC, Eng. Khalid Al-Gnoon expressed his delight at the company’s contribution to the success of the Hajj season by providing reliable, and high-quality electricity services. He emphasized that this success was due to the grace of Allah, the continuous guidance and follow-up from the Minister of Energy and the company’s board of directors, and the dedicated efforts of over 2,000 SEC experts throughout the Hajj season.

Al-Gnoon highlighted that the plan’s success was achieved through implementing vital projects and investments exceeding SAR700
million to develop and enhance the electrical grid infrastructure, ensuring its stability and continuity around the clock. This enabled pilgrims to perform their rituals comfortably and peacefully.

Al-Gnoon affirmed the company’s early preparations for the next Hajj season and its commitment to utilizing all its resources and capabilities to serve the pilgrims.
