Kingdom's Cost of Living Index falls in November by 0.2%

Riyadh, 21 Rabi’I,1438 AH, 20 December,2016 , SPA –The general index of the cost of living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia fell in November by 0.2% compared to October 2016.
The General Authority for Statistics (GaStat) said in its report that the general index of the cost of living in the Kingdom amounted to (137.5 points) in November 2016 compared to (137.8 points) in October last year, recording a decrease of (0.2%), referring this decline of the index to the fall of six key sections namely : food and beverage section by (0.6%), clothing and footwear section by (0.6%), furnishing, home equipment and maintenance section by (0.5%), recreation and culture section by ( 0.4%), health section by (0.2%), and communications section by (0.2%).
It indicated that the rise in three of the main index sections including transportation section by (0.2%), restaurants and hotels section by (0.1%) and miscellaneous goods and services section by 0.1%, while the sections of tobacco, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels and education remained at the same level of their previous prices.
