Doha, HE the Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali said that the State of Qatar attaches great attention to supporting the youth and developing heir skills in different fields, stressing that the Ministry of Culture and Sports will spare no effort for supporting and backing new motor racers.
HE the Minister said in remarks today that Ministry’s strategy is primarily designed to focus on youth, which was clearly evident in the Qatar Superstock 600, which features a large presence of young people.
He explained that a big number new race drivers and riders are competing in the championship, pointing that it will be the beginning of attracting more young people to participate in official races organized under the laws maintaining security and safety.
HE the Minister praised the efficiency in organizing the tournament, pointing that the races were strong and exciting an all its categories.
Qatar Superstock is a great opportunity for motor racing enthusiasts to take their hobby to the professional level and to participate in various local and international tournaments, HE the Minister said expecting greater popularity in the coming rounds of the tournament, especially after the significant success of the first round.
He pointed out that there are a lot of plans in collaboration with Lusaile Circuit Club and Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) to promote youth participation in the Touring Car Championship which has not seen large Qatari participation compared to the motorcycle race championship. He considered the first round to be just a beginning, and that the next rounds will see great success in terms of both participation and organization.
HE the Minister concluded his remarks saying that the tournament is witnessing the participation of a lot of young Qatari motorsport enthusiasts, not only in competition, but also in the areas of organization and administration, pointing out that the QMMF and Lusaile Circuit Club organize training programs to qualify Qatari cadres in organization, marshall and referee.
