Arafat: The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) revealed telecom indicators for Makkah and the holy sites on June 14, 2024. The total number of voice calls reached 33.7 million, including 31.1 million local calls and 2.6 million international calls, with a total success rate of 99%.
Statistics showed that total data consumption reached 6,300 TB, equivalent to watching 2.58 million hours of 1080p HD video. The indicators also included a daily average data consumption per capita of 867.53 MB, more than twice the global consumption rate of 380 MB per person.
Mobile internet download speeds averaged 432.09 Mbit/s, while upload speeds averaged 58.23 Mbit/s.
The ICT sector is meeting high consumption demands with the finest quality standards, aligning with the leadership’s aspirations by providing high download speeds through its technical preparations and human resources, as well as facilitating local and international calls to ensure a smooth Hajj.
