Doha: The Police Academy, within its participation at the 33rd Doha International Book Fair, organized a seminar to discuss the dimensions of security culture, in addition to the role of community participation as one of its components.
During the seminar, Head of the Scientific Publications Department at the Security Research and Studies Centre at the Police Academy Captain Mohammed Rashid Al Dosari provided the theoretical framework for security culture, starting from the concept used by security and governmental institutions to raise awareness among all segments of society and cultivate a generation that actively participates with security agencies in crime prevention and deterrence, emphasizing that security is everyone’s responsibility.
He discussed the objectives of security culture, notably the necessity to reduce crime and deviant behavior, protect society, and instill in individuals a culture of proper conduct that ensures their safety, highlighting its key characteristics and the means to achieve
it through security education, training, practice, and guidance.
