General Authority of Awqaf Initiatives Serve Pilgrims during Hajj Season

Mina: The General Authority of Awqaf is dedicated to lending support to the visitors to the two holy mosques by financing and implementing different initiatives in collaboration with the authorities concerned with Hajj and Umrah.

Numerous educational, cultural, and awareness programs are thus carried out, many through the use of modern technology.

With millions of pilgrims flocking to the holy sites, the authority has spearheaded multilingual guidance initiatives to help Muslims fulfil their religious duty and navigate the various holy sites. These initiatives include documentaries like “The Story of a Pilgrim” which focuses on the Hajj journey and holy sites, as well as awareness films shown on “Saudia” planes, which explain the Hajj and Umrah rituals in their entirety.

The authority also initiated the “Beneficiary Awareness Survey” initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, which aims to assess the level of knowledge and awareness among beneficiaries and relevant authorities, monit
or inquiries, and submit pertinent recommendations and proposals to address and confront potential crises that pilgrims may encounter.

The authority also contributed to the awareness project that works to enhance the awareness of pilgrims and visitors in 14 different languages, and works to enrich the pilgrims’ experience and help them discover the Kingdom.

For example, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Translation Project contributes to translating the Arafat sermon into multiple languages, to the benefit of millions of people worldwide every year.
