H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has received Gabrielius Landsbergis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the UAE and Lithuania, and ways of advancing prospects of cooperation in various fields for the mutual interest of the two countries and their people.
The ministers also discussed a number of regional and international topics of mutual concern.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah welcomed the visit of Gabrielius Landsbergis, stressing that the UAE and Lithuania enjoy distinguished and developing bilateral relations and there is a joint interest to further boost and enhance them in all fields.
For his part, Minister Landsbergis highlighted the depth of UAE-Lithuanian relations, and affirmed his country’s keenness to develop joint cooperation in various fields.
After the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Gabrielius Landsbergis signed an extradition agreement between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Lithuania.
They also signed an agreement on the transfer of sentenced persons between the two countries, as well as an agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters between the UAE and the Republic of Lithuania.
The meeting was attended by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation.
