Halal Products Development Company (HPDC) and American Eat Just, Inc., specializing in innovative food, have announced a strategic collaboration through which HPDC will provide its consulting services to assist Eat Just in obtaining halal certification and necessary approvals, with the aim of exporting its products to local and regional markets.

Moreover, a specific strategy will be developed to help Eat Just enter the halal products market.

HPDC CEO Fahad bin Suleiman Al Nahit expressed pride in partnering with Eat Just, a company specializing in innovative food, including dairy, egg, and lab-grown meat alternatives. Eat Just will benefit from the auditing and support services provided by HPDC, ensuring that all production stages align with halal product principles and standards.

Al Nahit said that Eat Just will also engage with the consulting department to receive guidance and support regarding the official procedures for obtaining halal certification in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the world. This bolsters HPDC’s efforts to build a healthier, safer and more sustainable food system in the markets it operates in.

Al Nahit emphasized that the collaboration with Eat Just aims to enable HPDC to seize significant opportunities in the global halal products sector. The collaboration aligns with HPDC’s mission to enrich this sector, stimulate its growth and help it prosper, and empower companies and institutions operating in it by providing support and accreditation for halal products. It also aims to raise awareness and knowledge about this sector.

Eat Just uses various lab-grown food production technologies, including plant-based protein production and cellular agriculture, supported by a global team of scientists and chefs working across more than 12 research areas.

According to HPDC, it will continue its efforts to develop a dynamic and resilient ecosystem for halal products in the Kingdom, support localization efforts, enhance local halal product exports, and maximize the value provided to local and global partners. These efforts are based on deep knowledge and extensive experience in the halal products industry, which contributed to establishing Saudi Arabia as a leading global hub for halal products.
