HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s visit to the Kyrgyz Republic is a historic event, which the Kyrgyz people are awaiting with love and interest, said HE Member of the Supreme Council (Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic and Chairperson of Kyrgyz-Qatari Parliamentary Friendship Group Nurjigit Kadyrbekov.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency , His Excellency hailed the visit of HH the Amir as a source of hope to the Kyrgyz people for a promising future for cooperation between their country and the Arab countries in general, as the Arab world enjoys a special prestige in Kyrgyzstan, given the common religious, cultural and historical ties.
The relations between the State of Qatar and the Kyrgyz Republic are outstanding and evolving, and the cooperation between the two countries will be more active and dynamic in the future, driven by HH the Amir’s visit, His Excellency said.
His Excellency highlighted the close relations between Kyrgyzstan’s Supreme Council and Qatar’s Shura Council, with members of the two parliaments having held multiple meetings and conferences on regional and international occasions that dealt with the importance of the role played by these entities in strengthening cooperation relations between the two countries.
The Supreme Council is currently working on drafting a proposal that includes a set of ideas and axes that will contribute to boosting bilateral parliamentary cooperation. It also includes proposals for cooperation in the field of education, especially for Kyrgyz students to study in Qatar’s advanced universities.
In this context, His Excellency called on the Shura Council members to visit his country and discover the possible areas of cooperation that contribute to consolidating rapprochement between the peoples of the two countries, as there are strong aspirations from Kyrgyzstan to strengthen relations at all levels with the State of Qatar.
His Excellency expressed his confidence that HH the Amir’s visit to Bishkek will be a strong impetus to elevate relations between the two sides to a new stage characterized by cooperation in all economic, trade, investment, tourism, education and various fields of interest to the two countries.
HE Kadyrbekov hailed the development that Qatar is witnessing in all sectors, especially in the field of investment in the human element, whose results were reflected in Qatar’s impressive hosting and organization of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The tournament was also an opportunity for the Kyrgyz people to get to know Qatar and its people, and the extent of their adherence to their customs and traditions in line with openness to the other, His Excellency added.
