More Than 2.6 Million People Escaped Sudan Fighting, UN Says

More than 2.6 million people have fled their homes since the outbreak of fighting in Sudan in mid-April, a UN report said today.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) indicated in a report issued today that more than 2.1 million people have been internally displaced, since the fighting began last April, including 1.4 million people who fled the capital, Khartoum.

The report said that more than 560,000 people crossed borders into neighboring countries
