Jeddah: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed concern over the military developments and tension the region has been witnessed for a few days, calling for de-escalation and restraint, and warning about the repercussions any action that would exacerbate the tension would have on the security and stability in the region.
It called on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibility to maintain international peace and security, and work on avoiding escalation in the region.
It also called on the international community to work toward solving recurrent issues in the region, especially the Palestinian issue, and stopping the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
