Mina: A heartwarming story emerged from a Saudi Arabian Scout camp, where a scout leader, Mohammed Al-Dossary, and his son joined forces to volunteer and guide lost pilgrims within the holy sites. Their participation exemplifies the motto: “Serving the pilgrim is an honour for us.”

Al-Dossary, a veteran of over three decades in the scouting movement, shared his motivation. He said that including children in pilgrim service aims to instill the values of volunteerism and honour service and cultivate a culture of giving back from a young age.

His son, Abdulrahman, a scouting program graduate, has now reached a level where he can contribute to this noble cause. Al-Dossary highlighted that many other volunteers and their children participate yearly, becoming exemplary figures for younger generations.

The volunteers utilize guidance centers equipped with electronic and digital maps to assist pilgrims in finding their way back to their residences. They undergo comprehensive critical thinking and communication ski
