SFDA Delegation Visits Health Sciences Authority of Singapore, Holds Meetings on Sidelines of IHFAF

Riyadh: The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), Dr. Hisham bin Saad Aljadhey, has visited the Health Sciences Authority of Singapore (HSA) which is responsible for medicines, innovative treatments and medical devices.

Aljadhey met with the CEO of the Health Sciences Authority, Dr. Choong May Ling, with whom he discussed many topics of common interest and opportunities for cooperation and integration to contribute to supporting the regulatory system at the international level.

Dr. Ling congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for achieving maturity level four (ML4) in the field of medicines and vaccines regulation, which is the highest level in the classification that can be obtained. She expressed her country’s desire to benefit from the experience of the authourity in this field.

Dr. Aljadhey met with several counterparts in the field of food control, including the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA), The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), and the Ne
w Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries. The parties discussed developments related to food safety and enhancing cooperation with those authorities.

These meetings followed the authourity’s participation in the 5th Annual Meeting of International Heads of Food Agencies Forum (IHFAF), being hosted by the Republic of Singapore from 16 to 20 April.
