Doha, The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) held the forum for public shareholding companies listed in Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) with the attendance of representatives from QSE, Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA), representatives of shareholding companies, alongside a host of entrepreneurs and interested entities.

In a statement on Tuesday, MoCI said the forum comes in recognition of its steadfast keenness to streamline the practice of investment and trade activities in Qatar and offer all essential assistance for the shareholding companies in quest of elevating the confidence level in Qatari business setting, in addition to fostering partnership with private sector to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030, with a competitive, diverse, and sustainable economy.

The event put spotlight on the significance of shareholding companies in the national economy, identify the most important amendments included in the law No. 8 of 2021, amending some provisions of the commercial companies law No. 11 of 2015, as well as outline the remuneration of members of the board of directors and methods of calculating them, as well as non-Qatari investors to own up to 100 percent of companies listed on QSE.

The ministry also discussed the services provided by the shareholding companies listed in QSE, the attempt to develop and promote them, as well as avenues to communicate with these companies.
