12 Injured in Residential Building Explosion in Turkiye’s Konya

Konya: Twelve people were injured, one of them seriously, in an explosion that occurred in a residential building in Turkiye's Konya province on Monday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the explosion took place in a four-story building and is believed to have been caused by a natural gas leak. Emergency teams from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, along with police, health, and fire services, were dispatched to the scene.

The governor of Konya explained in a statement that a fire broke out on the third floor of the building in the Karatay district as a result of the explosion.

In a related incident last January, 10 people were killed and 32 others injured in a fire at a hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort in Bolu province, northwestern Turkiye.
