MME, represented by the Department of Public Cleanliness (Beaches and Islands Section) organized an extensive cleaning campaign to clean the beach of Bin Ghannam Island in Al Khor. The campaign was held in coordination 35 employees of Al Meera Consumer Goods Company on the occasion of World Clean-up Day, which is celebrated on the 3rd Saturday of September every year. During the campaign, participants collected various amounts of waste dumped on the island’s beach and removed such as empty plastic cans, bags, discarded wood and tires.

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Agricultural Affairs Department, organized a Field Day on the optimal utilization of drying dates rooms. This day was organized in co-operation with the Agricultural Research Department at the researches Plant in Rawdat Al-Faras.

As part of the MME’s completion of the program through which it supports farms with rooms of drying dates, the MME organized this event which targets the various farmers and farms owners producing dates in order to familiarize, awareness-raise and guide them with hands-on explanation on carrying out the process of drying dates in the drying rooms. It is worthy to mention that 100 farms producing and marketing dates were supported.

He added that this day highlights the efforts exerted by the Ministry’s General Cleanliness Department on a daily basis, manifested in the collection of household waste and constant cleaning of streets, roads, squares, gardens, beaches and all public places, which continuously make it clean and safe areas. In that connection, he paid tribute and gave thanks to all working teams and cleaners in appreciation for their daily efforts to maintain public hygiene throughout the state.
