Foreign Minister Receives Phone Call from His Swedish Counterpart

Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a phone call today from the Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Tobias Billström.

During the telephone conversation, the two sides discussed developments in the Republic of Sudan, the efforts exerted to halt the military escalation between the conflicting parties, put an end to the violence, and provide the necessary protection for Sudanese civilians and residents on its territories in a way that guarantees the security, stability and well-being of Sudan and its brotherly people.

Moreover, the two sides also reviewed bilateral relations and means to enhance and develop them in various fields and discussed aspects of intensifying joint coordination on various issues of common concern.

La Liga: De Jong, Pedri Return to Barcelona for Clash with Atletico Madrid

Barcelona have confirmed that Frenkie de Jong and Pedri have both been passed fit for Sunday’s La Liga clash with Atletico Madrid at the Camp Nou.

The return of the duo is a huge boost for the Catalans ahead of a tough test against an in-form Atletico Madrid side.

De Jong has not played for over a month. His last appearance came in Barcelona’s 2-1 win over Real Madrid at the Camp Nou in March.

Pedri has been sidelined for much longer. The midfielder’s last game was against Manchester United in the Europa League back in February.

Interior Ministry’s directorates carry on efforts to ensure safety of citizens, residents during Eid Al-Fitr holiday

The police directorates in the four governorates and concerned Interior Ministry directorates have taken the required arrangements to ensure the safety and security of citizens and residents during Eid Al Fitr through security deployment in all parts of the Kingdom.

The police directorates and the community police were deployed near mosques and Eid prayer areas to regulate traffic. They were also present on roads, commercial malls, and residential areas to provide the best security services.

The General Directorate of Traffic has intensified its deployments of traffic personnel to monitor main highways and regulate traffic near malls and busy roads. Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Civil Defence has been alerted to ensure swift response in case of fire cases.

Bahrainis residing in Sudan are urged to update their personal data with the Kingdom’s Embassy in Khartoum to facilitate communication, ensure their safety and provide assistance when needed. .

In a statement today, the ministry also urged citizens

wishing to visit the Republic of Sudan to postpone their trips until further notice.

Saudi Foreign Ministry: evacuees arrive safely in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Ministry of of Foreign Affairs announced the safe arrival of the citizens of the Kingdom who were evacuated from the Republic of Sudan as well as several nationals of brotherly and friendly countries, including diplomats and international officials.

The evacuees arrived in an operation carried out by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces with the support of various branches of the armed forces, said Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The number of citizens who were evacuated reached 91 citizens, while the number of people who were evacuated from brotherly and friendly countries reached approximately 66, representing the following nationalities (Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Tunisia, Pakistan, India, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Canada, and Burkina Faso).

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia worked to provide all the necessary needs of foreign nationals in preparation for their departure to their countries.

UoB President receives Chinese Ambassador

University of Bahrain (UoB) President Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al Mudhahki received Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Ni Ruchi, as the United Nations celebrated the UN Chinese Language Day, which falls annually on April 20.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed aspects of joint cooperation and cultural exchanges between the University of Bahrain and Shanghai University.

Dr. Al-Mudhahki stressed the importance of educational cooperation and cultural communication between the two universities, as part of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

The meeting also highlighted the efforts of the Confucius Institute at the University of Bahrain in facilitating cultural exchanges, offering Chinese language courses, and sponsoring various cultural activities.


The Chinese ambassador praised the role of the Confucius Institute at the University of Bahrain in consolidating friendly relations between China and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and promoting cooperation and educational cultural exchange.
