MGA Entertainment Initiates Merger with Zapf Creation AG

LOS ANGELES and RÖDENTAL, Germany, Oct. 09, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — MGA Entertainment, Inc. (MGA), one of the world’s largest and fastest growing privately held toy and entertainment companies, announced today that it intends to merge with Zapf Creation AG, Europe’s leading manufacturer of nurturing dolls. Specifically, MGA’s wholly-owned German subsidiary, which is the current direct major shareholder of Zapf Creation AG, has approached Zapf with an invitation to enter into negotiations of a merger agreement. MGA and Zapf Creation AG have had a collaborative business relationship for the sales and distribution of both companies’ brands for nearly 20 years. The merger is expected to close in Spring 2024.

No further details are available at this time; however, the leadership of the companies will work closely to plan the merger and will make appropriate announcements as information becomes available.

Wind inshore will be northwesterly 05 to 15 knot.

Offshore, it will be northwesterly 12 to 22 knot gusting to 28 knot at times.

Visibility will be 05 to 09 kilometers.

Sea state inshore will be 2 to 4 feet rises to 5 feet at times. Offshore will be 3 to 7 feet rises to 9 feet at times.

UAE President, Austrian Chancellor review bilateral ties, regional developments

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held discussions by telephone today with the Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria, Karl Nehammer, to review bilateral ties and explore opportunities to build upon the strategic partnership between the UAE and Austria for the benefit of both nations.

His Highness and the Austrian Chancellor also addressed the latest developments in the region and their grave implications, emphasising the need for urgent de-escalation and restraint to safeguard the lives of civilians.

The two sides stressed the importance of swift and concerted action by the international community to support diplomatic efforts aimed at avoiding further conflict that jeopardises the security and stability of the region and its people.

GDNC and Border Guard Foil Attempt to Smuggle 122 Killograms of Hashish

In a successful operation, the General Directorate for Narcotics Control (GDNC), in coordination with the General Directorate of the Border Guards, has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 122 kilograms of hashish. Two citizens were arrested in the Jazan region, along with the seizure of firearms and live ammunition. Legal measures have been taken against the smugglers, and they have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further action.

Security authorities call on the public to report information concerning drug smuggling or selling by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions. They may also contact the GDNC at 995 or through email: 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality.

KSrelief’s Masam Project Dismantles 730 Mines within Week in Yemen

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Project (Masam) for clearing mines in Yemen, dismantled during the first week of October 2023, a total of 730 mines, including 85 anti-tank mines and 125 unexploded ordnances.

Since the beginning of the project, as many as 417,833 mines have been dismantled.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, aims to clear Yemeni lands of the mines. These mines have tragically caused the death and injury of innocent children, women, and the elderly.
