The number of Coronavirus infections rises all over the world-WHO


Geneva, World Health Organization(WHO)announced Saturday that the number of Corona virus infections (Covid-19) has risen all over the world by 52% over the past days.

In its weekly report on epidemiological spread, Novosti Agency quoted the organization as saying that at the global level, the number of new cases of Coronavirus has increased by 52 % from last November 20th to this December 17th.

The organization said that over this period, 850,000 new Coronavirus cases were reported, as earlier this month, it said that Corona virus has adapted to humans, yet it continues to mutate

It is noteworthy that Corona virus was discovered in late 2019, and within four years it left millions of deaths and infection all over the world.

Israeli occupation continues its horrific crimes in Gaza Strip for the 78th day


Occupied Jerusalem, The Israeli occupation forces continued Saturday their fascist aggression against the stricken Gaza Strip for the 78th day, with violent air and artillery bombardment, horrific crimes and massacres amid catastrophic humanitarian situation as a result of the siege and the displacement of more than 90 percent of the population.

Palestinian media reported that the occupation aircraft bombed a number of homes in the center of the city of Deir al-Balah, which claimed the lives of a number of Palestinians and wounded many others, and shelled a house in Nuseirat camp, killing and injuring 18 Palestinians.

Israeli aircraft launched dozens of raids on Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Yunis to the south of the Strip.

The number of Palestinian martyrs from the Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7th rose to more than 20 thousand according to Health Ministry.

Rainfalls expected in most regions of Syria


Damascus, Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with heavy rainfalls accompanied by thunderstorms in coastal region.

Meteorology Department said in its Saturday bulletin that temperatures will rise to become slightly above average as the country is affected by superficial low air pressure accompanied by southwesterly air currents in the upper parts of atmosphere.

The wind will be moderate southwesterly in most regions, with active gusts exceeding 70 km/h, specifically in the coastal, southern, and al-Badia regions, raising dust in the eastern and al-Badia regions, while the sea waves will be moderate to high in amplitude.

The expected temperatures in some Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 14/10, Daraa 14/8, Hasaka 14/7, Tartous 12/15, Aleppo 14/7, Idleb 14/8, Deir Ezzor 15/9.

Mikdad arrives in Tehran to take part in high level conference on Palestine

Tehran, The high-level consultative conference on Palestine began Saturday in Tehran.

High level government officials, political and religious figures, prominent thinkers and media figures from more than 50 countries all over the world, including Syria took part in the conference.

The participating Syrian delegation comprises Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, Deputy Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh, Counselor Wissam Ajeeb, and Third Secretary Ziad Zaytoun from the Minister’s office.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanani said in a statement that the conference aims to enhance international support for the Palestinians, to pressure Zionist entity to immediately stop military attacks on Gaza Strip, and to lift the siege imposed on the Strip completely, in addition to sending urgent humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people.

Mikdad, Abdollahian stress importance of mobilizing international solidarity to stop the Zionist aggression against Palestinians


Tehran, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, discussed with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian the developments of the situation in the region and the brutal Israeli aggression on the Palestinian territories in the Gaza Strip and the entire region, in addition to bilateral relations and the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation in various fields of common interest.

During their meeting on the sidelines of the High Level International Consultative Conference on Palestine held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh, the two ministers stressed the importance of mobilizing international solidarity in order to stop the Zionist aggression against the defenseless Palestinian people.

Mikdad praised the initiative of Iran and the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to hold this international conference in solidarity with Palestine, which sent a strong message in support of the Palestinian people.

It also affirmed that the actions of the Zionist entity are illegal and have absolutely no justification, calling for an end to the crimes of the Zionists in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the Palestinian people are the ones who decide their own fate, calling for the opening of the crossings to deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people and for international organizations to fulfill their pledges towards the Palestinian cause.

Mikdad: Washington is a partner in the killing of Palestinian people


Tehran, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad said that the US prevented the Security Council from adopting any resolution to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip.

‘Washington is a partner in the killing of the Palestinian people and all the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in the region,’ said the Foreign Minister in his speech before the High Level International Consultative Conference on Palestine being held in Tehran, the Iranian capital.

The minister reiterated Damascus’ condemnation of the Israeli occupation’s attempts to displace the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and warned of the dangerous consequences of this on the region and the world.

‘The countries gathered today in Tehran seek justice for the Palestinian people and to stop the massacres, war crimes and crimes against humanity that the occupation commits against them,’ the minister added.
