Activities of pistachio picking festival starts in Aleppo city


Damascus, Activities of pistachio picking festival, which is organized by Syria Trust for Development and Aleppo City Council, in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture and the Union of Fine Artists began on Monday.

The first day activities, which were held to shed light on the importance of pistachio’s farming, included the farmers’ participation in picking pistachio from its fields in the village of Abtin in the southern countryside of Aleppo, besides the participation of a number of fine artists with drawings that expressed the tree, and planting number of pistachio seedlings.

Mrs. Hadeel Saleh, from Syria Trust for Development, referred to the Trust’s efforts in cooperation with the Farmers’ Union to support agriculture in general, noting that pistachio planting in the village of Abtin will be supported by establishing a production cooperative and providing it with a production line for cracking, peeling and roasting pistachios.

Lebanese Resistance targets two sites of Israeli enemy forces


Beirut, Lebanese Resistance targeted the espionage equipment at Matla site for Israeli enemy forces.

The Resistance said in a statement: ‘In support of our steadfast Palestinian people in Gaza Strip and their valiant and honorable resistance, the resistance fighters targeted the espionage equipment at Matla site on Monday morning with appropriate weapons and hit it directly, which led to its destruction.’

In another statement, the resistance announced that it targeted with a barrage of Katyusha rockets the newly established headquarters of the 146th division of the Israeli enemy forces in Jaatoun.

OPEC reduces 2024 oil demand growth forecast


Vienna, The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) reduced its forecast for global oil demand growth in 2024.

The organization’s report for July expected that the growth rate of the global economy would remain at 2,9 percent for the current and next years, while expectations for this year regarding growth in global demand for oil decreased slightly by 135 thousand barrels to 2,1million barrels per day.

OPEC also reduced slightly its forecast for growth in demand for oil next year by 65 thousand barrels per day to 1,8 million barrels per day.

OPEC maintained its forecast regarding growth in supplies from outside at 1,2 million barrels per day this year and 1,1 million barrels per day next year, supported by production from the United States, Canada and Brazil.

142 martyrs in occupation massacres committed in Gaza over past 48 hours


Occupied Jerusalem, Palestinian Health Ministry said Monday Israeli occupation committed three massacres in Gaza Strip over the past 48 hours, causing the martyrdom of 142 and the injury of 150.

‘The number of victims of ongoing Israeli aggression has reached to 39,897 martyrs and 92,152 wounded, while a number of victims are still under the rubble of destroyed buildings’, the ministry said in a statement.

Earlier, 16 Palestinians were martyred and dozens were injured in occupation shelling of various areas in the Strip.

14 Martyrs, dozens wounded in occupation bombing several areas, Gaza Strip


Occupied Jerusalem, 14 Palestinians were martyred and dozens were injured Monday in Israeli occupation bombing of several areas in the afflicted Gaza Strip.

Wafa News Agency reported that the occupation aircraft bombed houses in Khan Yunis city, southern Gaza Strip, which led to the martyrdom of 12 Palestinians and the injury of dozens.

It added that the occupation forces also blew up a residential block in the town of Abasan, east of Khan Yunis city.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces bombed areas in Nuseirat camp in the central of the Strip, several neighborhoods in Gaza City, and west of Rafah in the south of the Strip with aircraft and artillery, which resulted in the martyrdom of two Palestinians and the injury of others.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has so far resulted in 39,790 documented Palestinian fatalities, mostly women and children, in addition to 92,000 injuries.

3 citizens injured in Israeli raid on Kfar Kila town, Southern Lebanon


Beirut, Three people were injured in Israeli airstrike on the town of Kfar Kila in southern Lebanon.

The Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported in a statement Monday according to what was announced by the official Lebanese National News Agency, that an Israeli raid targeted the town of Kfar Kila last night, wounding three people.

The vicinity of the town square of Aita al-Shaab was hit around this morning by 4 shells originating from an Israeli tank, and a ‘hostile’ march targeted the town of Burj al-Muluk near Mimmarola Park with a missile.

Damascus, ‘Let every child have a voice to be heard’ event kicked off on Monday on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the launch of the National Program for Early Detection and Intervention of Hearing Loss in Newborns, at Damascus University Auditorium.

Health Minister, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghabbash affirmed in a speech that the program, during its first year, has completed a national protocol with international standards and updated procedures for detection, intervention, rehabilitation, and expansion of the number of hearing screening centers to make the service more available and to provide the survey centers with the necessary personnel, equipment, and infrastructure to provide services according to the approved standards.

Al-Ghabbash noted that the program had brought reassurance to 23,000 families by confirming the soundness of their children’s hearing or through the necessary intervention through hearing aids, including cochlear surgery, and then the necessary rehabilitation for them to be like their pe
ers in society.

The Minister added that an in-depth training program for doctors on cochlear implantation has been provided. It is a specialized scientific program that aims to have more than 10 new doctors in Syria within a year who are capable of performing cochlear implantation operations.

‘Our goal is to reach every newborn child through a survey center not far from the family, to check on the sense of hearing or for appropriate intervention and rehabilitation through qualified doctors in the provinces’, the Minister said.

A number of Palestinians injured in Israeli military raid, south of Nablus


Occupied Jerusalem, A number of Palestinians were injured on Monday as the Israeli occupation forces stormed Madama village, south of Nablus city in the West Bank.

WAFA news agency quoted head of the Madama Village Council, Abdullah Ziada as saying that a large force of the occupation army stormed the village, closed all its entrances, raided and searched several homes, and fired tear gas canisters at the Palestinians, which led to a number of them suffering from suffocation.

Earlier, the occupation forces arrested 7 Palestinians, including one injured person, in the West Bank.
