26th IIFA Explores Childcare, Technology, and Finance on Second Day

Jeddah: On its second day, the 26th session of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) discussed several scientific sessions on contemporary topics and developments related to childcare, technology, economics, and Islamic jurisprudence.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the first scientific session, members and experts discussed emerging issues in childcare, emphasizing the shared responsibility imposed by Islamic law on both the family and society to care for children and protect their rights.

In the second session, the focus was on Istishab as jurisprudential evidence, examining its impact and applications in contemporary developments and incidents. It serves as a legal guide to ensure the stability of rulings amid new developments.

The third session addressed artificial intelligence, discussing its rules, regulations, and ethics. Scholars explored the benefits and harms of artificial intelligence, outlining recommendations and regulations for consideration in the IIFA council's decisions.

The fourth session covered new developments in the Islamic finance industry, including the Sharia ruling on paying a third party an increase in a loan and the ruling on charging fees for letters of guarantee and documentary credit.

The IIFA council plans to issue its decisions and recommendations on these contemporary issues during its final session, scheduled for next Thursday.
