4.6-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes US State of Alaska

Doha: An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 struck Thursday the US state of Alaska. The epicenter of the quake occurred 57 km west of Karluk area, at a depth of 3.9 km, the US Geological Survey reported.

According to Qatar News Agency, there have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far.

Alaska sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire where tectonic plates converge, leading to intense seismic and volcanic activity.
