5.2-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southern Philippines

An earthquake measuring 5.2 magnitude on the Richter scale hit on Wednesday off the coast of the Davao Oriental province, south of Philippines.

According to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the epicenter of the earthquake occurred 43 km from the Governor Generoso area of the province, at a depth of 39 km.

There have been no reports of casualties or material damage as a result of the earthquake so far.

The Philippines is exposed to volcanic and seismic activity due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire. (QNA)
