Fiji: An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck Sunday south of the Fiji Islands in the South Pacific Ocean.
According to Qatar News Agency, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 506.6 km, as reported by the US Geological Survey (USGS).
Fiji lies in the Pacific Ring of Fire, a region prone to frequent and sometimes powerful earthquakes.
