Alexandria: The 73rd session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Transport is scheduled to convene on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria. The meeting is set to focus on enhancing Arab cooperation in the transport and logistics sectors, supporting infrastructure development in the Arab region, and promoting economic integration among Arab member states to help achieve sustainable development goals. The outcomes of this session will be presented at the 37th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Transport, which is slated for Wednesday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting agenda includes a study on establishing an Arab mechanism and database to support the ship repair and construction industry. Another key topic will be the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advancing the transport and logistics sector across Arab countries. Additionally, the session will review a draft agreement aimed at regulat
ing maritime transport procedures for passengers and goods between Arab nations. A working paper prepared by the Academy will also be discussed, focusing on unifying driving and rest periods for truck and bus drivers to enhance safety and security in the land transport sector.
