Mogadishu: The Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency forces conducted a military operation in collaboration with international partners in the War Isse area in Middle Shabelle, southeastern Somalia, the National News Agency (SONNA) said Saturday.
According to Qatar News Agency, SONNA added that the operation resulted in the killing of nine operatives in the Al Shabaab movement, including two prominent leaders.
The authorities emphasized that the operation accomplished its choreographed objectives, as it constitutes a painful strike against the movement at a time when security agencies confirm that operations will continue until the movement's stragglers are entirely eliminated.
Throughout the past month, the military conducted similar operations in the same governorate against Al Shabaab targets, resulting in the killing and wounding of dozens.
