Al Adaam Shine with 8 Medals at WTT Youth Contender Tournament in Jordan

Amman: Qatar's junior table tennis team have clinched eight medals of assorted colors, comprising a gold, three silvers, and four bronzes at the WTT Youth Contender Tournament 2025 in Amman, marking a new milestone that showcases the advancement of this sport in Qatar across various age groups.

According to Qatar News Agency, Racha Loghraibi led the team's success, securing a gold medal in the U-11 category and a bronze medal in the U-13 division after outperforming Alia Elbaz. The Qatari Alia Elbaz captured the silver medal in the U-11, with Serena Sheikh also securing a silver medal in the U-13 category after a strong performance culminating in the final.

Abdulaziz Al Abdullah shone in the Under-15 category, advancing to the final before falling to Iran's Mobin Amiri in straight sets and settling for the silver medal. Qatar's presence on the podium extended to other age groups as well, with Rabeah Al Kuwari clinching a bronze medal in the Under-11 category after reaching the semifinals, where he faced Egypt's Salah Allam.

In the Under-15 girls' competition, Rokaia Elbaz had a commendable run to the semifinals before losing to India's Ankulika Chakraborty, earning a bronze medal. Mubarak Al Qutaiti rounded out Qatar's medal tally, securing bronze in the Under-11 category after a semifinal loss to Iraq's Andia Mohammed.

The overall outcome reflects the progress of Qatari table tennis, as Al Adaam have not only been present on the victory podiums but have also demonstrated strong performances against schools from Egypt, Iraq, India, and Iran. This experience is set to benefit the Qatari squad in their future competitions.
