Al ahli: Al Ahli SC boss Igor Biscan expressed satisfaction with his team’s goalless draw against Uzbekistan’s FC Andijon in the second round of the AFC Champions League 2. Speaking after the match, the Croatian noted the challenging playing conditions, particularly the hard pitch surface, which affected his players’ accuracy and composure in front of goal. Despite missed chances, he described the result as fair against a well-organized home side backed by strong fan support.
According to Qatar News Agency, Biscan expressed confidence his men would secure all three points in the return match in Doha. The coach also explained that German midfielder Julian Draxler did not start due to minor muscle discomfort following Al Ahli’s recent Qatar Stars League match. To avoid risk, Draxler was introduced only in the second half.
Biscan reaffirmed Al Ahli’s ambition to advance to the knockout stage from a group that also includes Andijon, Bahrain’s Al Khaldiya, and Turkmenistan’s Arkadag.
