Al Khor Defeats Al Shamal in Qatar Volleyball League

Doha: Al Khor defeated Al Shamal by three sets to one on Saturday in the men's general division volleyball league, part of the 2025-2026 sports season. The match, played at the Qatar Volleyball Association Hall, was part of the first round of the 10-club competition.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Khor secured the victory with set scores of 25-20, 23-25, 25-20, and 25-19. The win raises Al Khor's total to five points, placing them at the top of the standings, four points ahead of second-place Al Wakrah. Al Shamal, which played its first match of the season, remains without points.

Al Khor previously earned two points by defeating Al Wakrah three sets to two in the competition's opening match. The first round continues Sunday with Al Ahli facing Al Wakrah, while Police SC will play Al Sadd on Tuesday.

The league's schedule was recently amended by the Association's Competitions Committee due to the participation of Al Rayyan in the 2025 Men's and Women's FIVB Volleyball Club World Championships, which Brazil will host from Dec. 16 to 21. Al Rayyan is the titleholder from the previous season. However, Al Arabi holds the record for the most championships, with 26 titles.
