Doha: The Qatar Theatre Troupe on Monday evening presented the play "Al-Madina Al-Fasila" (The Dividing City) as part of the competitive lineup of the 38th Doha Theatre Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture through the Theater Affairs Center at Al Mayassa Theatre in the Qatar National Convention Centre. According to Qatar News Agency, Assistant Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Culture, Mubarak bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, emphasized that the Doha Theatre Festival represents one of the most prominent cultural and artistic pillars in Qatar. He noted the festival's role in reflecting a long-standing theatrical tradition that has contributed to strengthening the national cultural scene over the decades. Al Khalifa highlighted the ministry's commitment to continuing the festival, underscoring its importance in supporting theatrical and artistic activity. The festival is seen as a landmark of Qatar's cultural leadership, providing a platform that brings together all elements of theatric al production, including writers, directors, and performers, thereby enriching the cultural landscape and supporting local creativity. He expressed hope that the participating productions would meet high artistic standards and stimulate thought while enriching cultural experiences.
