Amir of Qatar Receives Invitation for GCC-EU Summit in 2026

Lusail:HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has received a written invitation from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, to participate in the upcoming Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-European Union (EU) summit. The summit is scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia in October 2026.

According to Qatar News Agency, the invitation was personally delivered by HRH Prince Saad bin Mansour bin Saad bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Qatar, during a meeting with HH the Amir at Lusail Palace.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Saudi Ambassador conveyed King Salman's greetings and well-wishes for the health and happiness of HH the Amir, along with hopes for continued progress and prosperity for the people of Qatar. In response, HH the Amir sent his greetings and well-wishes back to King Salman and expressed his hopes for ongoing growth and prosperity for the Saudi people.

The discussions during the meeting also touched upon the fraternal relations between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, with both sides expressing a desire to further develop and enhance these ties.
