Apple: Apple announced a new feature titled "Charge Limit" on its MacBook devices as part of the new trial version of the operating system macOS 26.4.
According to Qatar News Agency, the feature, previously available only on iPhone and iPad, will now allow MacBook users to determine the charging limit, which is expected to enhance the device's long-term performance. The company elaborated on the challenges faced by its lithium-ion batteries, which endure significant stress when used for extended periods at full charge, adversely affecting their overall performance over time.
The "Charge Limit" feature enables users to set a charging percentage between 80% and 100%, which can be activated via the battery settings by clicking on the details icon next to the 'Charging' option. This initiative is part of Apple's ongoing efforts to improve user control over device health, in light of growing awareness regarding the importance of battery capabilities and their long-term efficiency.
