Doha: The Arab League condemned in the strongest terms the targeting of Sudanese state facilities in the cities of Port Sudan and Kassala by Rapid Support Forces marches on Sunday. The League considered this a dangerous escalation of the crisis that negatively impacts the flow of civilians and humanitarian aid throughout Sudan.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit said that the insistence on destructing Sudanese state institutions, facilities, and infrastructure not only affects Sudan's future, unity, and territorial integrity, but also strongly threatens regional peace and stability in the region and the Red Sea.
The Secretary-General of the Arab League called for full and immediate compliance with the ceasefire agreement signed in Jeddah and relevant Security Council resolutions.
