Cairo: The Arab League reiterated its condemnation of Iranian attacks against Arab states, describing the situation as dangerous and a grave strategic mistake by Iran.
According to Qatar News Agency, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit stated in a Wednesday announcement that the attacks carried out by Iran are completely condemned. These actions are not only a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, but also an assault on the principles of good neighborliness.
The Secretary-General emphasized that the attacks have created an unprecedented state of hostility between Iran and its Arab neighbors. This growing rift could have profound future implications, further destabilizing the region.
He acknowledged the devastating consequences of the ongoing conflict in Iran but insisted that these do not justify targeting neighboring Arab states. Aboul Gheit pointed out that several Arab countries have actively worked to avert this catastrophic war, stressing that Iran's actions amount to a grave strategic error.
Aboul Gheit urged Iran to rectify its course and immediately cease its attacks, warning of the dangers of escalating the current conflict. He called for a swift correction of the situation with all affected countries to avoid further deterioration.
