Arab Negotiating Group Addresses Climate Action Financing in Cairo

Cairo: The 41st Meeting of the Arab Negotiating Group on Climate Change is set to begin on Wednesday at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo. The two-day event will focus on crucial climate change topics, including the draft strategy for Arab countries to finance climate action, a proposal to establish an Arab Center for Climate Change and Sustainable Finance, the Arab Action Plan for addressing climate issues, and preparations for the upcoming 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) in Brazil from Nov. 10 to 21.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Economic Affairs Sector at the Arab League, Ambassador Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al Malki, emphasized that the meeting is part of the Arab League's efforts to coordinate among nations and to develop a unified Arab stance on the issues discussed. Representatives from Arab countries' ministries responsible for climate change, national focal points for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and representatives from Arab organizations will attend the meeting.
