Riyadh: The Arab Parliament has issued a strong condemnation of the recent attacks conducted by the Houthi group on the Najran region in Saudi Arabia, resulting in injuries to civilians. The assaults also targeted sites and units of the Yemeni government forces in Ma'rib and Hadramawt, leading to casualties.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, stated that these actions violate international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter. He expressed the Arab Parliament's unwavering support for Saudi Arabia and Yemen in defending their security, territorial integrity, and the safety of their citizens.
Al Yamahi emphasized the Arab Parliament's commitment to supporting efforts aimed at maintaining Yemen's security and stability. He noted that these attacks represent a significant escalation, undermining regional and international efforts to reduce tensions and achieve peace in the region. The attacks also exacerbate humanitarian suffering and threaten the prospects of reaching a comprehensive political resolution to the Yemeni crisis.
