Doha: Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at the Ministry of Social Developments and Family, Fahd bin Mohammed Al Khayarin, met with HE Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Diene Keita. Al Khayarin also separately engaged with Rania Hedeya, Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
According to Qatar News Agency, the meetings took place on the sidelines of the Second World Summit for Social Development. The discussions centered around enhancing cooperation between Qatar and various UN agencies in the arenas of social development and population initiatives. They also addressed Qatar’s involvement in the upcoming World Urban Forum in Azerbaijan in May 2026, as well as preparations for the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction, scheduled for December 14 to 16 in Doha.
The dialogue also explored collaboration opportunities in developing social programs and building institutional capacities. It emphasized strengthening the partnership between the UNFPA and the State of Qatar concerning population and social issues, while adapting to demographic changes both regionally and globally.
Al Khayarin affirmed Qatar’s strong commitment to fostering international partnerships and sharing expertise. This dedication aligns with the broader objectives of achieving social development goals and empowering individuals, as outlined in Qatar National Vision 2030.
