Doha: The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs concluded Thursday the “Qur’an and Human Knowledge” Conference and the first “Book of the Ummah” Forum. The two events were held in collaboration with Qatar University’s Ibn Khaldun Center for Humanities and Social Sciences and saw two days of discussions involving scholars and researchers from across the Islamic world.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qur’an and Human Knowledge conference brought together over 18 researchers to explore the relationship between the Qur’an and contemporary human knowledge. Participants emphasized the need to recenter the Qur’an in shaping modern intellectual and social discourse, and to bridge the gap between Islamic sciences and the humanities. They also called for greater efforts to engage Muslim scholars across disciplines in extracting Qur’anic insights and integrating them into contemporary human knowledge, especially in analyzing social and cultural phenomena from an Islamic perspective.
Meanwhile, the first “Book of the Ummah” Forum focused on the role of the Ummah Book Series in revitalizing Islamic intellectual thought. Researchers highlighted the series’ contributions to rebuilding the intellectual framework of the modern Muslim, promoting Islamic values, renewing awareness rooted in revelation, and nurturing elite Muslim thinkers. Participants also stressed the importance of reviving and renewing Islamic intellectual heritage, evaluating past outputs critically, and understanding the messaging, methods, and approaches used in addressing contemporary challenges.
