Boeing and Qatar Airways Collaborate on Widebody Aircraft Delivery


Doha: President, Boeing Middle East, Turkiye, Africa, and Central Asia Kuljit Ghata-Aura revealed ongoing cooperation with Qatar Airways to finalize the delivery date for widebody aircraft as part of a recently signed deal in Doha.



According to Qatar News Agency, Ghata-Aura highlighted the recent announcement of a record-breaking agreement with Qatar Airways, coinciding with US President Donald Trump’s visit to Qatar, as a significant milestone for Boeing. The deal involves the purchase of 210 wide-body aircraft, comprising 787s and 777-9s.



Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar and Boeing, facilitating the establishment of Boeing’s first limited liability company in Qatar. This entity aims to launch various initiatives that align with the Qatar National Vision 2030, with a focus on human capital development and computing.



Ghata-Aura also mentioned the collaboration between Boeing and the Qatar Computing Research Institute, emphasizing Boeing’s pride in this partnership. The company has also been active in community programs in Qatar, especially those targeting youth with interests in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.



In his concluding remarks to QNA, Ghata-Aura emphasized the Qatar Economic Forum’s role in providing opportunities to engage with stakeholders in the aviation sector within Qatar and the region.
