Britain Arrests Three Bulgarians on Charges of Spying for Russia

The British authorities arrested three Bulgarian citizens on suspicion of spying for Russia.

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) quoted security sources as saying that the three citizens "two men and a woman" have been in detention since last February on suspicion of carrying out espionage for the Russian security services, noting that they were in possession of false identities, including passports, identity cards and documents issued by a number of European countries.

It stated that the suspects, who had been living in London for years, were tracked down by investigators from the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) of the London Metropolitan Police, pointing out that their trial is scheduled to begin next January at the Old Bailey Court in London.
