Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan. HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi stated that at the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet renewed the State of Qatar's strong condemnation of the Iranian attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, describing them as blatant violations of sovereignty and breaches of international law. Qatar reaffirmed its solidarity with both nations and support for their measures to protect sovereignty and security.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet emphasized the importance of mitigating the consequences of these attacks in the region, ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and continuing dialogue and diplomacy. The Cabinet also expressed support for ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran to resolve outstanding issues peacefully.
On another note, the Cabinet extended condolences to the family of a Qatari citizen who was martyred due to shrapnel from military operations in the region and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
The Cabinet reviewed its agenda and approved a draft Amiri Decision to regulate legislative preparations, intending to replace Amiri Decision No. (33) of 2000. This aims to enhance legislative processes and align them with future developments and strategies.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved a draft Amiri Decision on treaties and international agreements, setting procedures for their implementation, monitoring, and maximizing benefits. Two draft Memoranda of Understanding between Qatar and North Macedonia were also approved, focusing on political consultations and diplomatic training.
The Cabinet concluded by reviewing reports on the 2025 achievements of Hamad Medical Corporation and the Primary Health Care Corporation, as well as participation in the 7th Session of the General Assembly of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, taking appropriate actions based on these reviews.
