Museum of Contemporary Art Enriches Visitors’ Experience with Sound Resonance Series


Riyadh, The Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art (SAMoCA) has launched a series of new exhibitions and services that enrich the experience of art lovers and members of the community at the JAX District of Diriyah.

The ‘In the Night’ exhibition, hosted by SAMoCA, presents the “Sound Resonance Series”, a unique vocal experience that invites participants to explore a harmonious blend of artistic expression, stillness, creativity and inspiration through the tunes of more than 20 instruments. A solo session was held on April 28 and three more will be held on May 2, 9, and 16.

SAMoCA is the Kingdom’s first contemporary art museum; it seeks to build bridges between local and international artists and offers them the opportunity to exchange knowledge, communicate and grow, thus contributing to shaping the future of contemporary art in the Kingdom and the Arab region.

Minister of Environment and Climate Change Meets Singaporean Ministry of Sustainability and Environment Permanent Secretary

Doha: HE Minister of Environment and Climate Change Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie today met with HE Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment of the Republic of Singapore Stanley Loh.

The meeting discussed a number of topics of mutual interest with regards to sustainable development, protecting the environment, and climate change issues.

MSDF Organizes Workshop to Celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Day

Doha: Represented by its Social Welfare Department, Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) organized a workshop under the title ‘You Can,’ to enhance support for persons with disabilities, in cooperation with Mada Center for Assistive Technology.

This event came in conjunction with the events held to celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Day, aimed at promoting a culture of creativity and innovation in various fields, including efforts to integrate persons with disabilities into society.

On this occasion, Director of the Social Welfare Department Reem Al Ajmi said that the department is committed to providing comprehensive and sustainable support to persons with disabilities, through implementing programs and initiatives aimed at empowering them and integrating them into society effectively.

Al Ajmi stressed the importance of providing equal opportunities for all members of society, and urged all concerned parties to cooperate and partner in order to build a more comprehensive and solidary so
ciety.

This workshop comes within the framework of the ministry’s efforts to enhance the inclusiveness of society and promote sustainable social development by supporting and empowering all segments of society, including persons with disabilities, and in confirmation of its full commitment to achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to build a sustainable and prosperous society based on comprehensive development and promoting inclusivity and social justice.

A diverse group of experts and specialists in the field of training and capacity building as well as social development are participating in the workshop, to exchange experiences and develop strategies that contribute to empowering persons with disabilities, and integrating them effectively into all aspects of social and economic life.

The workshop includes a variety of activities and presentations to enhance the culture of creativity and innovation among persons with disabilities.

Gaza government: The occupation army plants explosives in the waste it leaves behind

Gaza – Ma’an – The government media office in Gaza condemned, on Monday, the occupation forces’ intentionally booby-trapping the waste they leave behind in the areas from which they are withdrawing.

The media office warned against the recurrence of these incidents in citizens’ homes, specifically those in the form of canned goods.

The media office called on the international community to bring in engineering teams and explosives experts to deal with the occupation’s remnants and remove their danger.

Saudi House’s Sustainability Pavilion Shines Spotlight on Climate Action Progress in Saudi Arabia


Riyadh, The Sustainability Pavilion at Saudi House was inaugurated on Sunday, coinciding with the hosting of the World Economic Forum Special Meeting in Riyadh. Serving as an interactive exhibition, the Sustainability Pavilion highlights various ongoing climate action initiatives within the framework of the Saudi Green Initiative. It features interactive screens and displays models of technologies and solutions used in implementing these initiatives. Visitors can engage with experts and learn more about Saudi Arabia’s goals to improve quality of life and its continuous efforts to achieve the goal of net zero emissions by 2060.

Moreover, visitors have the opportunity to explore a wide range of sustainability initiatives contributing to making a tangible positive impact across various regions of the Kingdom. The pavilion focuses on four main themes: carbon circular economy, vegetation cover development and land degradation prevention, protection of biodiversity and habitats, and sustainability enhancement. The
se themes reflect the efforts of numerous public and private sector entities implementing over 80 initiatives under the umbrella of the Saudi Green Initiative.

The pavilion welcomes all visitors to facilitate constructive dialogues, exchange information, and enhance interaction with sustainability efforts in the Kingdom. Located in VIA Riyadh, it is open to visitors on April 28-29 from 5 PM to 10 PM, constituting an integral part of the Saudi House initiative. Saudi House offers visitors and delegations an exceptional opportunity to learn about the transformation journey the Kingdom is undergoing within the framework of Saudi Vision 2030.

The Saudi Green Initiative, launched on March 27, 2021, by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aims to unify and enhance sustainability efforts in the Kingdom, serving as a natural extension of Saudi Vision 2030. It unites the efforts of all segments of Saudi society to address
the impacts of climate change, advance sustainable innovations, and protect the Kingdom’s natural environments to ensure an improved quality of life for future generations.

Deputy Premier: Bahrainis abroad kingdom’s best ambassadors


Cairo, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, has affirmed that Bahrainis working or studying abroad are the kingdom’s best ambassadors, as they project to the world its authentic Arab and Islamic identity, honourable history and prosperous future laden with landmark achievements, under the comprehensive development process, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He asserted that Bahrainis’ determination and strong will are the secret of their distinction and the motive behind their keenness to serve their homeland and honour it at various gatherings, where they usually leave a positive impact, and showcase Bahrain’s authentic values based on tolerance, coexistence, respect and openness to others.

The Deputy Prime Minister made the statements during the reception and dinner banquet he had hosted in honour of Bahraini workers and students in Egypt, on the occasion of h
is visit to Cairo.

Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Shura Council Chairman, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al Asoomi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, and Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, the kingdom’s Ambassador to Egypt, and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, in addition to several members of the Representatives and Shura councils, attended.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla saluted all Bahrainis who are working or studying abroad in order to contribute to the kingdom’s progress, based on the government’s utmost interest in developing the citizens’ skills and capabilities, as well as encouraging them to work hard and increase their academic achievements.

“Civilised and developed countries progress thanks to the dedicated efforts of their loyal citizens. They are their real wealth and assets, so they receive all forms of care and support in a way that preserves their dignity and protects their rights so as to always be good citizens who contribute effectiv
ely to their societies,” the Deputy Premier said.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla urged Bahraini citizens who are working or studying in Egypt to continue their dedicated work, and always give priority to national interests, which will help them achieve their personal and professional goals.

Bahraini workers and students in Egypt expressed their pride in meeting the Deputy Prime Minister, valuing highly his kind initiative that embodies his keenness to be assured about them, and provide an opportunity for them to meet and exchange experiences within a national atmosphere.

They expressed their congratulations to Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla for being conferred with the Development Pioneers Medal, awarded by the Arab Parliament to distinguished non-parliamentarians, as the first Arab official to receive this honour, in recognition of his contributions and valuable initiatives in the field of development at the national and Arab levels.

A young man was injured by occupation bullets in Qalqilya


Qalqilya – Ma’an – A young man was injured by Israeli occupation forces’ bullets, Monday evening, in the city of Qalqilya.

Local sources said that a young man in his twenties was shot in the foot with live bullets while he was in the ‘Al-Razzaza’ area of ??the city. He was subsequently transferred to the hospital and his condition was described as stable.

Police arrest a wanted man who has been on the run for 6 years in Dura


Hebron – Ma’an – Today, the police were able to arrest a wanted person who has been on the run for 6 years, and a large number of judicial warrants were confiscated against him in the city of Dura, south of Hebron.

The Police Public Relations and Media Department stated that the wanted man had been on the run from justice for 6 years, and 25 judicial warrants were issued against him on charges of forgery and issuing bad checks worth tens of thousands of shekels.

The police added that this wanted man was arrested during an elaborate ambush at the Dora Police Station in the center of the city.

The police confirmed that the arrested person was in custody to complete the necessary legal procedures against him according to the rules.

Saudi FM, US Secretary of State Discuss Bilateral Relations, Common Issues


Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met on Monday with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the sidelines of the US-Gulf Cooperation Council meeting.

During the meeting, they reviewed ways of strengthening bilateral relations and joint cooperation in various fields and discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the city of Rafah, emphasizing the importance of an immediate ceasefire and all efforts to ensure the entry of urgent humanitarian aid, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Meets Delegation of UK Parliament

Doha: Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari met with a delegation of the UK Parliament which included HE Member of the Parliament and chair of the Qatar all-party parliamentary group (APPG) Alun Cairns, HE Shadow Minister of Housing and Communities Florence Eshalomi, HE Official Spokesman of the Scottish National Party Chris Law, and HE Member of the Petitions Committee and the Women and Equalities Committee Marsha De Cordova.

During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, in addition to the Qatar-led mediation efforts to end the war on the Gaza Strip, and the reunification of families separated due to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

The meeting also discussed the Qatar-led efforts in exchanging a number of prisoners between the United States of America and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Afghan file, and ways to strengthen cooperative ties between the two countries.
