Syria condemns Israeli terrorist aggression on Aleppo countryside


Syria condemned the terrorist aggression launched by the Israeli occupation entity at dawn Friday, targeting a number of points in Aleppo countryside.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement, ‘Syria condemns the terrorist aggression launched by the Israeli occupation entity at dawn Friday, targeting a number of points in Aleppo countryside, causing the martyrdom and wounding a number of civilians and military personnel and material damage on public and private property.’.

The ministry added: ‘It was not a coincidence that the racist Zionist entity carried out this aggression at the same time that terrorist groups allied with the Zionist entity launched drone attacks carried out from Idleb and the western countryside of Aleppo, in an attempt to target civilians in Aleppo city and its surroundings.’.

The Ministry noted that the blatant Israeli aggression occurred a few hours after a similar aggression that destroyed a residential building in Damascus countryside, injuring two civ
ilians and causing material losses.

The Ministry said: ‘The Syrian Arab Republic stresses that the Israeli violations of Syrian territory and its repeated aggressions on residential neighborhoods prove the aggressive and barbaric nature of this entity.’.

The Ministry called on all countries in the world to assume their responsibilities in the face of serious and repeated Israeli violations of the principles of international and humanitarian law, and to force the Zionist entity and its supporters to stop their attacks and crimes in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon.

Syrian army eliminates a number of ‘al-Nusra Front’ terrorists in Aleppo countryside


Units of the Syrian Arab Army operating in the western countryside of Aleppo, killed and injured members of a group of ‘Al-Nusra Front’ terrorists when they carried out an attack on a number of the Army posts on Friday dawn.

Damascus, Two civilians were injured Thursday in an Israeli aggression on a residential building in Damascus countryside.

‘Nearly at 17.50 on Thursday, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression from the direction of occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a residential building in Damascus countryside,’ a military source told SANA.

The attack wounded two civilians and led to some material losses, according to the source.

Syria, WFP sign memo of understanding to boost social protection system


Damascus, Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor signed on Thursday a memorandum of understanding with the World Food Program on cooperation in a number of domains related to enhancing the social safety net programs and the social protection system in Syria.

The memorandum, signed by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Louay al-Munjid, and the World Food Program’s country Director in Syria, Kenn Crossley , aims to support families that suffer from certain aspects of vulnerabilities and include members of persons with disabilities, families that include elderly persons or pregnant women, families sponsored by women, and families with disabilities. The vulnerable group includes children who have dropped out of school.

Minister Al-Munajjid indicated in a statement to reporters that the aim of the memorandum is to benefit from the experiences possessed by the program in establishing social protection networks in Syria that will lead to supporting the ministry’s efforts and enhancing the expertise it needs, addi
ng that the system will be built entirely with national expertise, and in a way that suits the needs of the Syrian people.

For his part, Crossley said that the Program will support the ministry’s efforts in providing aid and support to the targeted groups, noting that the difficult circumstances facing the Syrian people require more aid and access to various vulnerable groups within it.

Syrian musician wins third place at IV International Gloria Artis, Music competition in Vienna 2024


Vienna, Syrian academic musician Hagop Knouzi won the third place in the fourth International Gloria Artis Music competition in Vienna 2024 for the professional piano solo category.

Knouzi told SANA that the professional competition with musicians from all over the world has an additional value for him in terms of challenge and determination in proving the ability of Syrian academic talents to achieve important positions in international competitions, despite the lack of capabilities as a result of the current circumstances facing the country.

Knouzi began studying music at Salhi al-Wadi Institute in Damascus in 2004 and continued his studies at the Higher Institute of music moreover he participated with the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra as a soloist performing Tchaikovsky’s First Concerto in 2023 under the direction of Maestro Missak Baghboudarian , in addition he won the first prize at the 9th international competition for soloists in Moscow 2023.

Two Russian warships enter the Red Sea


Moscow, Russian military announced the entry of two of its warships into the Red Sea through the Bab-el-Mandeb sea strait after carrying out maneuvers in the Gulf of Aden.

The ships are the cruiser ‘Varyag’ and the frigate ‘Marshal Shaposhnikov’, will sail through the Red Sea into the designated area of the Gulf of Aden where they will perform assigned missions, including the task to keep their anti-piracy watch, Tass quoted the Russian pacific fleet as saying in a statement today.

Ships of the Pacific Fleet continue their tasks as part of a periodic cruise through world waters.

President al-Assad issues Law No. 12 on protecting E- personal data


Damascus, President Bashar al-Assad issued Law No. (12) for 2024 regarding the protection of electronic personal data on the network.

The law aims to preserve the privacy of citizens’ data and regulate the process of collecting, processing, using and transferring personal information on the network in a way that ensures its confidentiality and deters perpetrators of illegal acts in this regard, through financial penalties that may reach to 12 million SYP and other punishments which may rise to three years imprisonment.

Five Palestinians injured, others arrested as occupation forces storm areas in the West Bank


Occupied Jerusalem, Five Palestinians were injured and others were arrested on Thursday as Israeli occupation forces stormed different areas in the West Bank.

Wafa News Agency reported that the occupation forces stormed the Qalandia camp northeast of the occupied city of Jerusalem from several directions with a bulldozer that stationed in several areas there.

They raided and searched homes and opened fires on the Palestinians, causing the injury of four Palestinians and arresting two brothers from Abu Dis town, east of the city.

The occupation forces also stormed Nablus city in the West Bank, surrounded a building, and opened fires on the Palestinians, wounding one of them, as they raided house in Rafidia area.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces stormed many cities and towns as Tulkarm, Jenin, Hebron and others, and they raided and searched houses and deployed military reinforcements there, arresting 14 Palestinians, including a child.

On Wednesday, the occupation forces arrested 20 Palestinians in differe
nt parts of the West Bank.
