Washington: US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its forces had redirected 82 commercial vessels, disabled three others, and boarded two to ensure compliance with the US blockade on Iran, as of August 28.
According to Qatar News Agency, CENTCOM stated that these operations are part of ongoing efforts to enforce the blockade on vessels entering or departing Iranian ports. In a recent post on X, CENTCOM reiterated its commitment to maintaining strict control over maritime traffic in and out of Iran.
CENTCOM emphasized that vessels traveling to and from Iranian ports would only be allowed to proceed for humanitarian purposes. The command stressed that no vessel would be permitted to enter or leave an Iranian port without US authorization, underscoring the stringent measures being taken to uphold the blockade.
