China Urges Stronger Global Collaboration on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space

Vienna: China called for strengthening international cooperation on the peaceful uses of outer space and continuously improving global governance. Addressing the 64th session of the Legal Subcommittee of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, China's Permanent Representative to the UN and other international organizations in Vienna, Li Song, emphasized the rapid advancement of space technology and the challenges it presents for global space governance.

According to Qatar News Agency, Li Song urged the international community to embrace multilateralism and reject any forms of unilateralism and bullying. He highlighted China's active role in international space cooperation and its efforts in sharing space development achievements with the global community. As an example, Li mentioned the experimental projects being conducted aboard the Chinese space station, which were selected through collaboration with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs.

Li Song affirmed China's readiness to contribute further to the peaceful uses of outer space and enhance global governance. He emphasized that the benefits of outer space exploration should be shared with all humankind, particularly those from the Global South.
