Beijing: China’s total goods imports and exports in yuan terms expanded 5% year on year in 2024 to 43.85 trillion yuan (about $6.1 trillion). Official data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs showed Monday that exports grew 7.1% year on year to 25.45 trillion yuan last year, while imports expanded 2.3% from one year earlier to 18.39 trillion yuan.
According to Qatar News Agency, the increase in China’s foreign trade highlights a continued upward trend in global economic interactions. The growth in exports outpaced that of imports, suggesting strong international demand for Chinese products. This economic performance comes amid various global challenges and reflects China’s role in international trade.
