China’s Industrial Output Rises 6.1% in April, Reports NBS


Beijing: China’s industrial production continued to see stable growth in April, China’s value-added industrial output expanded 6.1% year-on-year in April. The manufacturing sector saw its value-added output climb 6.6% year-on-year last month, with that of equipment manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing up by 9.8% and 10%, respectively, according to the official data, cited by Xinhua News Agency.



According to Qatar News Agency, In the first four months of this year, the country’s industrial output gained 6.4% compared to a year ago, the data showed. The industrial output is used to measure the activity of large enterprises, each with an annual main business turnover of at least 20 million yuan (about $2.78 million).



Meanwhile, China’s retail sales of consumer goods expanded 5.1% year-on-year in April, according to NBS. From January to April, the retail sales of consumer goods rose 4.7% year-on-year, accelerating from the 4.6-percent growth in the first three months.
